Erika BakkoLicensed Professional Counselor Candidate

My name is Erika Bakko, Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC). I earned my master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. My professional background includes teaching Kindergarten and Pre-K in Minnesota, an Equine Specialist, and working with nonprofits, both state side and in Cambodia, to educate and fight human trafficking.

My passion is to support an opportunity for growth and healing through multiple avenues. I use narrative therapy and cognitive behavior therapy often in my sessions as well as using experiential support through play, sand tray, movement, and projects. I believe that in all our areas of hardship there is an opportunity to validate who we are through our stories and find space for growth we can be proud of. I am connection focused and believe in a holistic space for healing. Every person is different, and most paths are too, finding the right fit, and support is important! I have experience working with all ages but mostly working with preteens, teens, young adults and single moms.

I grew up in Montana and that will forever be home, but I have found that Colorado is a good place to be right now. I have been a single mom for over 11 years with three kids of my own. I love to spend time with my kids, ride our horses, read on my porch, walk with my dogs, and go to farmers markets. I also really love winter and the calm in can bring.
