My name is Charlene Viquelia, and I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in social work at Walden University with the goal of becoming a licensed therapist. I am deeply passionate about supporting children and families, and I find great fulfillment in building meaningful connections with people, supporting them through challenges and celebrating their growth and progress along the way. Over the past four years, I have worked with children and families at a local foster care agency, an experience that has both shaped and strengthened my commitment to this field and ultimately inspired me to further my education in order to expand the ways I can support others.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in a client-centered, relational framework, where the foundation of our work together is built on trust, collaboration, and genuine human connection. I strive to create a space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and respected as the experts of their own experiences. Rather than taking a directive role, I aim to walk alongside each individual, supporting them as they explore their thoughts, emotions, and personal goals at a pace that feels comfortable and empowering.
I also believe that therapy does not have to feel intimidating or overly clinical to be effective. My intention is to cultivate an environment that is warm, engaging, and approachable. One where clients can feel at ease being themselves. By fostering a sense of comfort and openness, I hope to make the therapeutic process not only supportive, but also a positive and meaningful experience.
